Architype 45 / 90 emerged from the visual heritage of De Stijl Architypes by Theo van Doesburg and Bart Van Der Leck. It follows a strict system with lines being forced to follow 90 and 45 degrees angles; as Doesburg created a right angle alphabet and Van Der Leck opened up this approach to 45 degrees. The physical stencil itself consists of 12 differently sized bars which have to be arranged right on a surface to build the lettershapes.
The initial typeface was drawn during a workshop about stencil typefaces with NORM at ECAL (2019).
